FAQ
Is MilTrack an official military app?
No. MilTrack is an independent personal organization tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any military service, the Department of War, DHS, VA, or any other government agency. Treat every date and dollar as unofficial until you confirm it in official systems.
Who can use MilTrack?
MilTrack is an independent personal organization tool for service members. If you are not a service member, the app may not make sense for you. You must be at least 18.
Can reservists use MilTrack?
Not quite yet. The career clock is built for active duty. Reservist support is on the roadmap.
Where is my data stored?
On your iPhone. There is no MilTrack account and no MilTrack server holding the service related information you input. Uninstalling the app removes local data from that device. If that record leaves the phone, it is because you moved it, such as an iCloud or computer backup you make.
Will my record come back on a new phone?
Not automatically. Because the record lives only on that device, a new phone or a reinstall starts empty unless you restore from an iCloud or computer backup you made, or you still have the old device and can type the dates again. There is no MilTrack cloud account to pull from.
Why do I have to accept a disclaimer?
Because the app shows unofficial estimates based on publicly available branch and U.S. codes. The full disclaimer is at miltrack.us/disclaimer and in Settings → Legal.
Pay / BAH / TIS looks wrong.
Those figures are estimates from dates and flags you entered (paygrade, ZIP, dependents, AFADBD). They are not LES. Confirm with MyPay / your personnel office. Update duty station ZIP and dependents in Settings if they’ve changed.
I didn’t get a SkillBridge or BDD reminder.
Open iOS Settings → MilTrack → Notifications and allow alerts. Reminders are local and only schedule when the related dates exist on your profile. If you previously denied permission, turn notifications back on in system settings.
Document alerts are empty, or my branch isn’t listed.
Official branch messages will be available for some. Pull to refresh on Alerts. The app reads public listing pages; if those sites change or are down, the board can be empty. Some branches gate their official messages.
Face ID won’t unlock.
Use the device passcode fallback if Face ID fails. You can turn Face ID off in Settings. Biometrics stay on the device; we can’t reset your lock remotely.
How do I restore Premium?
Open Settings in the app and use Restore Purchases with the same Apple ID you used to subscribe. Purchases are managed by Apple; you can also review subscriptions in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
How do I cancel Premium?
Cancel through Apple, not inside MilTrack. Go to iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions, choose MilTrack (or Premium), and cancel. Your Premium access continues until the end of the current billing period.
What happens if my Premium subscription ends?
Your profile stays put. Dates, custom milestones, and settings are not deleted. Standard career milestones and some features return to the free tier until you subscribe again. Free includes Home dashboard tiles, official document alerts, AFADBD on Milestones, up to 10 custom milestones, and Official Branch Resources.
How do I erase my data?
Delete the app. That removes MilTrack’s local store from that iPhone. Edit individual dates anytime in Settings.
Can I share community advice?
Yes. Settings → Community Advice opens a draft email to support@miltrack.us. We don’t collect your address in the app. Your Mail app sends the message. Don’t include PII or anything that isn’t yours to share.
